Spectrum Partners was founded by former Fleming UCB senior executives with the objective of offering investment advice to institutional and private clients investing in the countries of the former Soviet Union (FSU). Over the last ten years, Spectrum Partners has entered into joint ventures/partnerships with other financial institutions including a Swiss wealth management company, Marcuard Group; a Russian private equity fund, Marshall Capital Partners; and UK-based Merchant Capital and has advised a number of funds that invested over US$ 300 million into the region's securities markets. The firm has a successful audited track record applying various strategies ranging from long only to absolute return, customized for the FSU securities markets.

The funds under Spectrum Partners' advisory have consistently been among the top performers within their respective peer groups and have been recognized for their outstanding absolute and/or risk-adjusted performance by institutions including BarclaysHedge, Bloomberg, Eurekahedge and EuroHedge. In January 2010, Spectrum Russian Phoenix Fund was nominated by EuroHedge as NEW FUND OF THE YEAR - EQUITY STRATEGIES along with six other new funds.
